General categories of certificates:
Lloyd's standard certificates include an initial mother certificate that registers and confirms the applicant's information, along with subject certificates.
Primary Mother Certificate
The Primary Mother Certificate serves as the initial document, containing details such as personal and organisational information, products and services, the applicant’s field of activity, and registered address. This certificate may be requested by scanning the designated barcode or by entering the certificate number on the official website of the Research Centre of the parent institution.
Once the applicant’s identity has been verified and their information entered into the system, they become eligible to apply for subject-specific certificates. At this stage, the applicant is required to provide all necessary information accurately and in a valid form for review and verification prior to the issuance of the certificate.
The required information includes, but is not limited to:
Subject Certificates
Lloyd’s subject and executive certificates cover both individual training certificates and organisational certificates relating to establishment and implementation. Each certificate contains the applicant’s information along with key validity dates—such as implementation, establishment, maintenance audit, and expiry—depending on the type of certificate issued.
Verification can be carried out by scanning the assigned barcode or by entering the certificate number on the official website of the Research Centre of the parent institution.
Training Certificates
Training certificates—also referred to as course certificates—are awarded to applicants upon successful completion of specialised or general courses, following the required number of training hours. These certificates are linked to the applicant’s academic background and area of specialisation.
The validity period, required documentation, training hours, and associated fees vary depending on the type of course undertaken.
Management and Service Certificates
These certificates relate to the management of organisations and the services they provide. They cover deployment and implementation, as well as pre-audit, audit, and annual maintenance processes. Each certificate is valid for three years and must be renewed upon expiry.
The time and cost of establishing these standards depend on several factors, including the field of activity, the type of standard, specific implementation requirements (such as Gantt chart planning), key personnel involved, and other relevant conditions.
Product Certificates
Product certificates follow the same principles and conditions as organisational management and service certificates, with the distinction that they apply specifically to an organisation’s products and production lines. Each product is assigned a dedicated chart for quality assessment.
A key requirement for these certificates is the presence of a qualified laboratory and a designated quality control manager within the organisation. The establishment and implementation process includes product-specific testing in line with the requirements of the Gantt chart.
Within the framework of standard product certificates, products are awarded one to five stars, reflecting their quality and credibility:
Lloyd’s executive certificates are accredited by the Lloyd’s Universal Certificate Division of the Lloyd’s Researching Centre, in partnership with UKAS and the IAF International Standard Organization.
